Unicorn Music Academy Philosophy
From Ms. Alena..
The most honest thing I can say right now at this moment is that I believe that I have lived lives in the past before where I was a musician, but didn’t necessarily find the satisfaction that I feel now as a musician; living a life where I am sharing music with all of those around me as well as developing my own personal craft.
I have always been led to teaching music no matter how deeply I found myself developing in my career as a professional musician. The art of music making is a lifelong practice and discovery of oneself, sharing this practice with others has been one of the most fulfilling practices of my existence thus far.
Formal music education was a big part of my upbringing. I loved classical music and the study of classical voice. During my college years I found myself discovering classic rock, soul, disco, funk, and jazz on a deeper level and developed a love for blending the styles of the classical music I had studied so deeply with the more improvised forms of music making.
Recently I have been fascinated with new and inventive ways to teach and discover harmony and it’s inner workings.
The journey never ends.
This is what I hope every student is left with at the end of every lesson. We are all on a journey, a path, it never ends and we are here for it. Together.
